2. Quantum Brown Bag Session
This presentation will provide insights into our ongoing research on the potential applications of quantum computing in solving optimization problems in maritime logistics. It will outline the steps required to utilize quantum technologies for tackling combinatorial optimization problems, using a practical case study of the Maritime Inventory Routing Problem. This problem involves considering both ship routing and inventory management aspects, making it especially relevant for tanker shipping companies. The presentation will offer a comprehensive explanation of the problem and showcase the results obtained from our current experiments. Furthermore, it will delve into the challenges and possibilities that quantum computing presents for addressing such complex combinatorial problems.
